Maxim Hovanschi: “We have a team, and it will fight for good results”

We bring you the interview of Moldova U-21 and FC Olimpia Bălţi defender Maxim Hovanschi given to SPORTS.md.

The defender of the northern team told about the emotions that he felt when he returned to Bălţi and shared his opinion on the upcoming season.

- You were not with the team for some time. Now you are all together again. Are you happy to be back to Olimpia?

-  Yes, of course, I am happy to be back to Olimpia. It is good to gather together again. We will vie for top spots.

- Will the upcoming season be successful? What do you feel before the start of the Championship?

- There are three weeks left until the Championship. We must prepare as well as possible over that period and we will see during the Championship how successful our campaign is. I hope everything will be good.

- You will face FC Tiraspol in the first round. Is this an opportunity to get revenge for the last two matches of last season (0-3 and 0-4)?

- Judging by the results in the previous games against Tiraspol, I can say that they are uncomfortable opponents for us. We must get revenge no matter what because the fans will not understand us otherwise.

- It will be hard without ten top players. How will Olimpia hold on to their level?

- Why without ten? The team mostly remained the same, excluding Andrei Tcaciuc and Alexandru Cheltuială. I think that the coaching staff will find worthy substitutes for them. And we can't lower the bar.

- What would you like to wish for the upcoming season?

- I'd like everybody to forget the rumours that the team does not exist. We have a team, and it will fight for good results.
