Since when have Olimpia become the test team for referees? Who appoints rookies in black with referee's whistles in their teeth and dagger in their bosom? When will the MFA understand that there is a crisis with referees?
We ask footballers and managers of other National Division clubs to watch the video below very close, to watch and think that, perhaps, you will get in our place tomorrow. The work of such referees as Viorel Găină and Alexandru Tean is a real crime on the football field, humiliating players and fans and discrediting the MFA.
What interests does the Referees Committee lobby? Who prefers to play 'office football' and why are some National Division teams treated unjustly?
We will comment on some episodes to help you understand what happened in these matches.
1. Sergiu Gheorghiev kung fukicked Maxim Hovanschi in the head. The foul was obvious, but the whistle was not blown.
2. Left defender Ghandi Kassenu (No. 20) should have chosen another profession, for instance, check the durability and elasticity of uniform shirts instead of playing football. Matthew Mathu almost remained naked but the referee did not show a yellow card to the Ghanaian forward for his misconduct and the systematic violation of football rules.
3. Handball or football? It is football, but the referee has another opinion on this matter. Wilfred Balima (No. 14) handled the ball before getting into the goalscoring position. It happened in the episode when Sergiu Gheorghiev (No. 8) scored the opener against Olimpia. Where are your eyes, Mr. Tean? Perhaps, referees do not undergo an eyesight test before every Championship? We will see that everything is fine with the referee's sight in the next episode and the problem lies in another area.
4. A foul on Ibrahima Kamara by Abu Tommy in the central zone. The African footballer picked up a yellow card but much later and in another episode.
5. Shotaro Okada was running along the right wing but was stopped by Jhonatan da Silva Pereira's shove in the back (No. 23). Having fallen on the ground, the Japanese footballer was so sure of the right interpretation of this episode that he took the ball in his hands. But it turns out that it was wrong because the referee was waiting for it to whistle and give the ball to Sheriff. Moreover, feeling Sheriff's impunity, left winger Ghandi Kassenu (No. 20) went on to shove Okado in the back when he was trying to get up from the ground.
6. The air duel of Matthew Muthu and Miral Samardžić (No. 26) in Olimpia's half, where Miral's shove with the elbow could have caused Matthew's injury. The referee did not stop the game and the ball remained with Olimpia but Mr. Tean should have given a yellow card to the Sheriff defender later.
7. Oluwawunmi Somide slipped past Vazha Tarkhnishvili (No. 3) and was knocked down in the penalty area. But, according to the referee and his linesman, the ball left the field and the Sheriff goalkeeper was allowed to deliver a shot.
8. It was a slide tackle to win Kamara's ball. Since when power struggle authorized by rules is awarded with a yellow card? Or, perhaps, there are different rules for Olimpia.
9. Two yellow cards for Jude Ogada - he picked up the first one because he pointed at Luvannor Henrique's (No. 90) foul near his penalty area to the referee and the second - because of Wilfred Balima's artistic fall (No. 14). The Sheriff defender rather fell over a tussock than over the Olimpia defender's leg.
As you see, the Olimpia administration is very worried with the situation in Moldovan football. Please, read it, watch it and think if we can do anything to change this situation with refereeing in Moldovan football, perhaps, by holding football rules courses for referees FOR FREE.
