Moldova national youth team head coach named Olimpia U-16 winger Alexandru Casianov to the U-17 roster at the last minute.
The footballer joined the team on the next day and flew off to Lithuania today, on August 22, at 2 30 pm.
We contacted Alexandru via phone before his departure and he answered a few questions.
- You were called up tp the team at the last minute, was it unexpected for you?
- No, I have alreasy trained with the team and played in the exhibition match in Vadul lui Vodă on August 13. I was injured in that game but was expecting a call-up anyway. Thanks to Olimpia's medical staff, I feel great now and am ready to join the team.
- What mood is the team in?
- Everybody is in a good mood and is expecting to win this tournament. We represent our country and should show everything what we can. Moldova is a complex country and there are skilled players in every region. There are two Olimpia players on the team - Vladimir Ghenaitis and I - an we need to show our best.
- Are you worried about this far trip?
- No, everything will be fine. I have already been to Russia and Romania so this is just another trip though important. We will do everything possible to look good in Lithuania.
