Maniacov's goal, Patroman's loss and Luchianov's draw

Olimpia's U-17 and U-18 teams hosted Zimbru Chişinău at the Lokomotiv stadium on Wednesday, May 18.

Olimpia 1993 -  Zimbru 1-3

Goal: Maniacov

Olimpia's starting 11: Lucov, Цуркану, Babenco, Pîrgaru, Trinca, Cobîlaş, Bejereanu, Didilica, Golban, Clipca, Maniacov

The home field advantage and a one-goal lead after half-time does not guuarantee a win sometimes, epecially if one's opponents are Zimbru. Alexandru Patroman's charges experienced it for themselves. The Red-and-Whites seemed to be another team after half-time, though they were leading 1-0 (Maniacov scored on a cross from Golban). The Chişinău side seized the opportunity and scored three goals before the final whistle, all of them on crosses from the wing.

Olimpia could have evened the score if Clipca, Golban and Maniacov took their chances. However, the team suffered a disappointing home loss instead.

Olimpia's starting 11:  Galac, Pogor, Zareciuc, Cernovei, Grijuc, Janu, Jurat, Marcu, Șura, Bogonos, Isac

Vladimir Luchianov's U-17 charges also wasted their opportunity to earn three points. The visitors scored a goal four minutes before the final.  Olimpia also netted off a corner kick through forward Bogonos .
