Alexandr Casianov: "For each match of the championship we come as for a derby"

We invite you to read an interview with Olimpia-1995 midfielder, Alexandr Casianov, who throughout the season tried the defense of the opponents alongside with Ivan Lakustă and Roman Nulman.

- Alexandr, Good afternoon. Whe did you start to play football, and why did you choose this sport?

- Good afternoon. In football I am since I was six years old. Prior to reaching Olimpia Junior school, I was plalying from morning to late evening with the guys at the football ground. I chose this sport because my uncle used to play at the professional level and was my idol. Also, I always wanted to become as popular as he.

- Who is your favorite football player in Olimpia and the around the world?

- I am very impressed by the performances of our striker and captain Gheorghii Ovseannikov. Also I like the game of Adrian Mutu.

- What are your favorite team, except for Olimpia? 

- I would be very happy if I could realize my dream and reach Steaua Bucureşti. But first I want to help the home team, which gave me a start in my professional career.

- Alexandr, what are you hobbies besides football?

- In addition to this main occupation, I spent much time on computer technology. Also, from time to time I work with the websites. I recently launched a page of our team, which has all the information about our junior groups, reports on all the games, photos and more.

- What qualities do you think should have top-class footballer?

- The forward players should certainly be technically strong, have good speed, dribbling and striking. As for the defensive line, are needed character and resistance. 

- Does always a young footballer as you follow the schedule and what can distract a young player from the training process?

- Personally I have no problems with discipline and professional attitude. A young footballer has to traet the trainings with a full seriousness and give his best to prove and improve his level. 

- What do you think, what are your strengths and weaknesses?

- I think the positive qualities can be identified quickly. The coach has a great influence on that, it depends the way he builds the training process.  

For me the coach is the second father. He can always find a kind word to cheer me up.

As for the sports part, there tough trainings we have to handle and the boys treat them seerious. Only hard, everyday work is helping us to improve ourselves and trust the squad.  

Also, the coach focuses on the players' abilities. 

- Tell me about the team. What are the traditions you have in your team?

- The guys are all very friendly and we always try to be together and help each other in difficult moments.

Before the game we always go out in a good mood, and till the final whistle of the referee we usually pray.

Against weaker teams, our coach uses a trick, saying that the team efforts are the players and it is the right moment to prove it on the field. 

- Who is your most devoted fan?

- The most devoted fans is my mom, who goes to all my games and support me. I dedicate her all the scored goals. 

- What are your goals in life and in sport?

- Of course, first of all I love football and I would like to be a good football player. If I am not good enough for a footballer I would like to become a dentist!
